Spending ban- How I am saving my money

hi lovelies,
today's post is going to be a bit different to my typical makeup/beauty posts.
Recently I have been purchasing a whole heap of makeup products and I realised that I have so many products that I haven't even used or opened up yet in my drawer. So to give my credit card a rest I have decided to go on a makeup spending ban..
Now when I say spending ban I'm not banning myself from buying beauty entirely I'm just going to limit the amount of money I spent on products. I am also trying to stop buying products that I don't acually need. I have a written up a list of products that I want to eventually get around to purchase throughout this year and possibly next year and I will only purchase items off this list...

My ways to save money on my makeup spending are:
1.Wait for sales. If I want a product that is from the drugstore I know that priceline, target, Myer etc are always having sales every few weeks so it is definelyy worth waiting a few weeks if I can get that certain product 30 or even 40% off.

2. Use up one before buying another. I currently have about 5 different Mascaras opened and I honestly think it's such a waste because they end up drying out or going gross before I can finish a whole tube.. so my new rule is I will not buy another type of the same product until I have hit pan on another or have entirely used it up. That way I am getting more use out of the products I currently own

3. Shop my own collection. Sometimes I get bored of using the same old products everyday so by mixing it up a bit and using different products that are stashed at the back of my draws is a great way to rediscover amazing products and save money.

So there you have it.. so far I think I've been doing really well.. over the month of July I only purchased two makeup items (covergirl foundation and chi chi eyeshadow pallete) and made one iherb order and all the items were off my wishlist

I hope you enjoyed reading this post ❤️

have a great day/night xx

Iherb order- Real techniqes and Hurraw lipbalms

Hi lovelies,
I was so impressed with my last order from iherb that i decided to buy a few more products.
I order the real techniques sponge, and the expert face brush and i also ordered 2 Hurraw lip balms.
I think I was most excited about the sponge because i had heard really great things about it and I don't have anything like it in my collection. It really has lived up to the expectations. I love it so much. It blends my foundation flawlessly and it is really easy to use to blend under eye concealer as well. I really recommend picking up this sponge . I also got the real techniques expert face brush. This is my new favorite foundation brush! it just makes it so easy to apply and it doesn't leave behind any brush lines or marks.

I also got two Hurraw Lip balms because I have seen many youtubers such as Shaaanxo rave about them. To be honest I don't actually like these lipbalms as much as I thought I would. They're still great and they do moisturize my lips and they whole vegan and cruelty free thing is great. I just feel like they have a funny scent to them even though they are both different 'flavours'. You can purchase them at David jones for around $8 i think but on iherb they are only $3-4 so I recommend buying them online.

BB Cream

Hi Lovelies,
If you follow me on instagram you would know that i am a huge BB cream fan. I would say that i wear them more than i wear actual foundation because i prefer a more natural light makeup for school and work.
BB creams or Beauty Balms are supposed to have many benefits for the skin while giving you a light coverage. some of these benefits include :
conceals imperfections
minimises the appearance of pores
evens skintone
smooths skin
helps fight against blemishes
all while giving an all day natural coverage to the skin.
Three of my favourtie BB creams i own are the:
Maybelline Dream pure BB cream- I have raved on about this quite a bit and it is my go to product. I use this almost every day and i love it. It is espically great because it has salysillic acid in it which helps fight those nasty breakouts

Rimmel Matte BB cream- This one is a more recent purchase and i really am enjoying it so far. I dont think that it has that much of a 'matte' effect but it is still a really nice BB cream.

Garnier Miracle Skin perfector- This is my first BB cream and i have been using this for 2 or 3 years now and i still love it so much. I have gone through about 4 of these and i will continue to repurchase it.

I do have a few more but i dont really use them as much or i dont really like them so these are my Top 3 BB creams
I usually apply these with a moisutriser or primer underneath and then set with a powder just to make it last all day long

Chi Chi Classics eyeshadow pallete

While wondering around the city the other day i couldnt help but notice there was 25% off Chi chi cosmetics. Of course i couldnt resist the sale so i decided to finally purchase my first chi chi eye shadow pallete. These are raved about constantly so i decided to see what the fuss was about. I got the classics pallete to start off with.
This pallete is fantastic!
the colours are crazy pigmented and so easy to blend. There is a wide range of different looks I can create with this pallete and these is a great range of matte and shimmer shadows.
I really reccomend these palletes and I will definetly be going out and purchasing more.

ps. sorry for the crappy photo I had horrible lighting

Skincare routine- Acne prone skin

hello beauties,
Sorry i haven't posted in a while i've been busy with school exams and work but now i finally have a few days off so i will be catching up with my blog posts

I personally have very acne prone skin. I have a lot of redness and scarring and i would say my skin is sensitive and combination-oily.
I have been through so many different skin cleansers both quite expensive ones and cheap ones from the drugstore and i am only now starting to discover products that really work for me.

First of all every night i remove my makeup either with my Garnier cleansing water or a makeup removal wipe. I then use one of two face washes. I have been alternating between my Herbalism cleanser from lush or my Avene cleansing gel. I usually alternate and use one in the morning and then the other at night.
I will then use a toner either my Garnier pure active pimple reducing toner or my Lush tea tree toner water which i have recently run out of but will be repurchasing soon. I then apply my grease lighting spot treatment from lush to any existing blemishes on my face. Lastly i will moisturize with my Garnier moisture match moisturizer. I am a huge fan of these they are so inexpensive but are really great products! i own three different ones, the green one which is supposed to mattify oily skin, the yellow one which is supposed to give your skin a radiant glow and the blue one which is for normal to dry skin and really moisturizes really well.
Three times a week i will use my st ives green tea scrub to exfoliate and i will also do a Mask once or twice a week. The mask i have really been loving lately is the Lush Cosmetic Warrior fresh mask. The only thing i dont like about this is that it STINKS so bad.

So there you have it. That is my skincare routine. I really believe that if your are going to apply makup to your face you really need a clean base and just a basic skincare routine that you follow. Not only will it make your skin cleaner but it will also help your makup go on better.
